Maharashtra: Senior Congress leader Sachin Sawant has stepped down from the post of party spokesperson in Maharashtra to protest against new appointments made by Nana Patole, who  is the chief of the Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee.  With this quit, a trouble is brewing for Maharashtra Congress. The disappointed Sachin Sawant has written to Congress president Sonia Gandhi inquiring for a brand new function.

As per reports, Sawant was upset with Patole's decision to appoint Atul Londhe, a former NCP leader, as chief spokesperson of the Maharashtra Congress. Londhe had joined the grand old party in 2016. Being the Congress legendary of 30 years, Sawant is serving as a general secretary in the party and chief spokesperson for a decade. He was demoted to assistant spokesperson by Patole. Sawant is considered to be one of the strongest voices in the state to publicly criticise the BJP and the erstwhile Devendra Fadnavis government.

The Congress spokesperson was feeling humiliated for being supplanted. He has been the strongest voice against the Bharatiya Janata party and Devendra Fadnavis government. Nana Patole being appointed as Congress chief has made some changes and stirred up things for the party. Many veterans of the party have been upset over changes made by them.
