In Chandigarh, Mr. Vijoy Kumar Singh assumed his new position on Monday, amidst the presence of high-ranking state government officials.
During his first meeting in office, he emphasized his commitment to implementing state government policies that prioritize the welfare of the people and promote development under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. Singh highlighted his goal of delivering a transparent, efficient, and responsive administration. He urged officials to ensure that government schemes reach and benefit the populace.
Singh stressed the state government's focus on crucial sectors such as education, healthcare, employment, and industrial growth. He also emphasized the timely delivery of citizen-centric services and stressed the importance of coordination among civil, police, and other departments, especially given the state's proximity to the border.
Addressing the officers who welcomed him, Singh urged them to diligently fulfill their duties to ensure the welfare of the people.
Vijoy Kumar Singh, a senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer from the 1990 batch, has held various significant positions in the state and central governments. His proactive and responsive approach towards public service is well-known, having served as Joint Secretary in the Department of Personnel and Training, Special Secretary in the Ministry of Textiles, and Secretary in the Department of Ex Servicemen Welfare in the Ministry of Defence in the Government of India.
