SEOUL: After two years of being scaled back due to Covid-19, late-night services on all subway lines in Seoul will fully restore to pre-pandemic levels by early August, according to operators.

The weekday working hours of Line 1 will be extended from midnight to 1 a.m. beginning July 1, according to Seoul Metro and Korail, the city's subway operators, while Lines 3 and 4 will follow suit on August 1. Subway service will continue to run until midnight on weekends and holidays, as it has in the past, the reports said.

According to the service operators, Line 2 and Lines 5-8 will begin late-night service on Tuesday, while four commuter rail lines in the capital area, including the Suin-Bundang Line, will do so on July 1.

After late-hour services were discontinued on April 1, 2020, due to the pandemic and social distancing measures, the re-schedulings will bring all of the city's subway lines back on track.
