Seven Suns in the Sky? Viral Video Sparks Debate Over Optical Illusion

A video showing what appears to be seven suns in the sky has recently captured widespread attention on social media. Filmed in Chengdu, Sichuan, China, the footage presents an unusual sight of multiple "suns" aligned in the sky. The video, recorded by a woman named Ms. Wang from the 11th floor of a hospital on August 18, has left many viewers astonished.

However, reports indicate that this striking celestial display is not a genuine astronomical event but rather an optical illusion. The effect was created by light passing through multiple panes of glass in a layered hospital window.

The video has stirred significant discussion online. Some viewers were skeptical, questioning the authenticity of the footage and suggesting it might involve graphic effects. Reactions have ranged from skepticism about the video's veracity to speculation about possible digital manipulation.

One commenter mused about the possibility of graphics artists being involved, asking, “How much did China pay for graphics artists?” Others have pointed out the lack of additional footage, suggesting that if the phenomenon were real, more recordings would be available. “This is just a beginner VFX student’s video project,” remarked another user.

Additional comments included doubts about the video's authenticity, with one person noting, “All suns have the same marks,” and another dismissing it as a fake event. Some users expressed amazement at the supposed rarity of the event, while others criticized the video as a poorly executed hoax.
