Islamabad: Veteran Pakistan cricket all-rounder Shahid Afridi will be seen playing for the last time in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2022. Afridi and English batsman James Vince will join Quetta Gladiators in the coming season. Both players have been traded to Quetta by Multan Sultans through diamond and silver picks in the PSL draft.

In another deal, gladiators traded wicketkeeper-batsman Azam Khan to Islamabad United, in return for Iftikhar Ahmed's services. This will be legendary all-rounder Afridi's fourth franchise. After joining his fourth PSL franchise, Afridi said, 'I am extremely excited to join Quetta gladiators, a side that has seen ups and downs in the last few events even after winning the title in 2019. I want to leave the tournament by winning another PSL trophy after tasting success with Peshawar Jalmi in 2017.'

Afridi further said, 'PSL is an event that encourages and motivates a player to give their best. I will use the same motivation to help my team and perform that can help us achieve our objective.'
