Bangalore: The identified individual responsible for the blast at Rameshwar Cafe in Bengaluru, Karnataka, has been named as Musavir Hussain Shazib. Additionally, his accomplice, Abdul Matheran Taha, has also been identified. Both individuals hail from Tirthahalli in the Shivamogga district of Karnataka and are associated with the Shivamogga module of ISIS.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has announced a reward of Rs 3 lakh each for information leading to their arrest. They are wanted in connection with a terrorist incident that occurred in Karnataka in 2020. The blast at Rameshwar Cafe on March 1, 2024, resulted in injuries to 10 people. The NIA utilized CCTV footage extensively to identify the suspects, who were observed wearing various disguises.

Investigations revealed that Shazib and Taha had stayed in a lodge in Triplicane, Chennai, before and after the blast. Their last known location was traced to Nellore, Andhra Pradesh. The key breakthrough in identifying Shazib came from a cap recovered from the crime scene. Forensic analysis of hair samples found on the cap matched the DNA of Shazib's immediate family members, leading to his identification.

Furthermore, investigations unveiled that the cap worn by the suspects was of limited edition and had been sold to around 400 individuals in southern states. Surveillance footage from a mall in Chennai confirmed Shazib and Taha's presence on the day of purchase. They had utilized fake IDs during their stay in Triplicane before traveling to Andhra Pradesh.
