Bhopal: The government has taken a big decision regarding obc reservation in direct recruitments in MP. The General Administration Department (GAD) has issued its orders on Monday. According to an order issued by the general administration department, the Madhya Pradesh government on Sunday issued an order to implement 73 per cent reservation in state-level and district-level direct recruitment. According to the general administration department's order, the posts which have remained vacant will be filled up with 16% for Scheduled Castes, 20% for Scheduled Tribes, and 27% for OBCs, 10 for EWS and the rest under unreserved category. A total of 33% of the posts will be reserved for women.

Earlier, the OBC category used to get 14 per cent reservation in direct recruitment. At the same time, the EWS also did not get reservation. Now the reservation on some direct recruitment has become 73 per cent. The government had increased the reservation of OBCs from 14% to 27%. The reservation will come into effect from March 8, 2019. Similarly, the EWS reservation will come into effect from July 2, 2019. Earlier on September 9, the MP government had asked all departments to implement the enhanced 27% reservation for the OTHER BACKWARD CATEGORY in all departments except recruitment in the departments of school education, health and medical education, which was banned by the Madhya Pradesh High Court. According to an ordinance passed in March 2019, 27% OBC reservation has been implemented. In August 2019, the ordinance became law.

According to Shivprasad Jaiswal and R.K. Sahu of the same OBC Selected Teachers' Association, this new system of the government will pave the way for appointment of candidates of 6 subjects of 13 per cent OBC hold of teachers. These candidates are hoping for the government to remove their hold at the earliest and issue appointment orders to them with full 27 per cent reservation. The same decision has also made the teachers' association selected with happiness. The union says the government's decision is commendable.
