We're talking about Shreeram Lagoo, who was born on November 16, 1927, in the Satara region of Maharashtra, and died on November 16, 1997. He studied medicine at Bhave High School, Ferguson College (Pune University), and BJ Medical College (Pune University) in India, receiving MBBS and MS degrees.

Shreeram Lagoo started acting in the play while attending the same medical college. He also practised medicines and surgery in Pune, India and Tabba, Tanzania in the sixties, but his theatre activity through the Progressive Dramatic Association in Pune and the "Rangayan" in Mumbai continued when he was in India. Finally, in 1969 he became a full-time actor on the Marathi stage, making his debut in the play "Ithi Oshlal Mritu" written by Vasant Kanetkar. He has a legendary status in Marathi cinema, where he has done many memorable films, including successful films like Sinhans, Pinjra and Mukta. The same his wife Deepa Applicable is also a famous theatre, television and film actress. They have two sons and a daughter. Shreeram Lagoo won the Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award for his work in the film 'Gharoda' in his career.

In 2006, Master Dinanath Mangeshkar Smriti Pratishthan was awarded for his contribution to cinema and theatre. He has acted in many super hit films like The King of the Streets, The Fragrance of Feet, Black Business Blondes, Unclaimed. Sriram Lagoo, known for his outstanding performances in the 70s and 80s, passed away on this day at Dinanath Mangeshkar Hospital in Pune after a prolonged illness.
