Bengaluru: On Friday, Siddaramaiah, the leader of the opposition in the Karnataka Assembly, demanded a narco test of Amrit Paul after his arrest for allegedly participating in the police sub-inspector (PSI) recruitment scam. He also claimed that numerous ministers and close friends were also involved in the scam.

"It will be obvious who all the politicians are if Amrit Paul, the ADGP of the recruitment department who was detained by CID officers in the PSI recruitment irregularity, undergoes the narcotics test. Many ministers and their close friends may be complicit in the PSI recruitment scam, according to some suspicions "said Siddaramaiah.

He also demanded that Paul's diaries should be the subject of a thorough study. "There should be clear information about this, which calls for testing significant authorities using Narco. The diary kept by Amrit Paul should similarly be the subject of a thorough examination. No attempt should be made to conceal this situation for whatever purpose" he added.

Araga Jnanendra, the state's home minister, was already called to account for this scam, said Siddaramaiah, who also demanded that Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai remove him from the cabinet.
