Gandhi Nagar: At Shree Sahajanand Girls Institute (SSGI) located in the Bhuj district of Gujarat. 68 girls were stripped off their underwear to check their menstrual period. Taking cognizance of this case, the Kutch Police has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT). Kutch police has said that investigation into the case will be completed as soon as possible and strict action will be taken on whoever is found guilty.

It is noteworthy that the undergarments of 68 girls were examined at Bhuj's Sri Sahajanand Girls Institute (SSGI) to find out if they were menstruating. The students studying for graduation while staying in hostels were forced to take off their inner garments by taking them to the college restroom. There was a lot of uproar over this matter.

This embarrassing incident occurred when the hostel rector complained to the college principal that some of the students were violating religious rules, especially the rules regarding menstruation. After which the students' underwear was examined. After this, Vice-Chancellor of Kutch University, Krantiguru Shyamji Krishna Verma has constituted a committee to investigate the matter.
