According to reports, the party has fielded Union Minister Smriti Irani in his place. Now Smriti Irani's gathering of Howrah is expected to attack Mamata Banerjee fiercely. The six TMC leaders, including former Minister Rajiv Banerjee, have joined BJP last Saturday. The leader was scheduled to join the BJP in the Kolkata meeting in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, but Amit Shah's visit to Bengal was canceled. Due to this, all were taken from Chartered Plains to Delhi and all joined BJP in the presence of Amit Shah on Saturday night.

Now today Rajib Banerjee, MLA Baishali Dalmiya, Rathin Chakraborty, and other leaders who joined BJP will be present in this meeting. Recently, BJP's Bengal unit president Dilip Ghosh has said that 'TMC and Mamata Banerjee are no longer trusted by the people of the state.
