Over 1 lakh devotees pay obeisance at holy Amarnath cave, 9th batch left today

Srinagar: About 1.11 devotees who left for Amarnath Yatra have visited holy Amarnath cave. The 9th batch of Amarnath yatries has also left the Jammu Base Camp on Tuesday. A total of 6018 pilgrims were involved in the 9th batch which departed from Jammu. In which 1967 pilgrims will reach Baltal and embark on their further journey. A group of 4051 devotees left for Pahalgam Base Camp from Jammu. The team will arrive late tonight at Pahalgam. The group will begin its journey tomorrow morning.

According to a senior official on the security of the Amarnath Yatra, the return of the devotees who have visited Baba Bhandari has also begun. About 4100 devotees have completed their Amarnath Yatra and reached the Jammu Base Camp by Tuesday morning. About 3503 pilgrims have completed the Amarnath Yatra on the way to Baltal while 597 passengers have reached the Jammu Base Camp on the way to Pahalgam. All these pilgrims are being brought to Jammu Base Camp from Baltal and Pahalgam amid tight security.

According to the data of Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board, by July 8, the number of devotees visiting Baba Bhandari has crossed 1 lakh. A total of 1,11,655 devotees have visited Baba Bhandari in the past 8 days. On the other hand, the number of devotees visiting Monday was 22,247. According to a senior official on the security of the Amarnath Yatra, 6140 devotees who visited the Amarnath Yatra on Monday had reached the court of Amarnath.
