New Delhi: Former captain of Indian team Sourav Ganguly is going to be the new head of BCCI. This has increased his stature in the sports world. Ganguly is also going to be another league face. Sourav Ganguly will be the 'face' of the upcoming Indian Super League football tournament. The new season of ISL will begin on Sunday in Kochi, where Kerala Blasters will face two-time champions ATK. Ganguly will be present on the occasion. The former captain said on Eden Gardens, 'I am the face of ISL this time and am shooting for them.
So I have to be present at the opening ceremony in Kerala and because of this I will not be in Ranchi Test match. The future president of BCCI was supposed to stay in Ranchi but the new developments meant that Ganguly would reach Mumbai the next day after attending ISL's inauguration ceremony and take over as its chairman at the BCCI Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 23 October. Incidentally, Ganguly is also the co-owner of the ISL franchise ATK. He said, 'I am still with ATK and will talk to them soon.' Ganguly said that he had to relinquish the post of mentor of the Indian Premier League franchise Delhi Capitals due to his new responsibility.
