Lucknow: Shafiqur Rahman Burke, the Samajwadi Party (SP) MP from Sambhal, who has often been in controversy for his controversial statements, has once again made a provocative statement. The SP MPs were also furious over Sambhal's talk of offering water to Jama Masjid and declared that if water goes to the mosque, thousands of people will bleed. Burke also warned the administration to correct the situation.

According to a media report, angry over the bulldozing action at the Jahangirpuri mosque after the violence on Hanuman Jayanti in Delhi, MP Burke said, "The vandalism in the mosque is an attempt to suppress Muslims. In such a situation, how will the Muslims survive in India? The atrocities that have taken place in Jahangirpuri cannot be tolerated. The bulldozer that has been fired on the mosque in the month of Ramadan cannot be a worse thing. I condemn it from the heart. Burke said he will now go to Jahangirpuri to get information about the encroachments removed from the mosque and its surrounding area.''

During a joint press conference with his grandson and MLA Ziaur Rahman Burke, Burke said, "On April 22, they will go to Jahangirpuri and see which was the encroachment on which the bulldozers have been run. Burke has blamed the BJP government for the crackdown on encroachments in Delhi. On the issue of offering water at the Jama Masjid, Burke said, "If that happens, thousands of people will bleed. Muslims will never tolerate it. We want peace, why do you do such a thing? I request that the administration should be vigilant. There should be arrangements for electricity and water on Eid. The administration is demanded to take care that hatred does not flourish. We talked about offering water at the Jama Masjid, but we have persuaded the Muslims to control the situation. I only request that there should be proper arrangements for Eid and goodbye.''
