Speculation Surrounding Kamal Nath's Joining BJP: Congress Veteran Promises Transparency

There's been buzz swirling around the political circles suggesting Kamal Nath, a senior figure in the Congress party and former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, might be considering a move to the BJP. However, in response to these rumors, Nath assured reporters upon his arrival in the national capital on Saturday afternoon that if any such decision were to materialize, he would inform the media first.

Nath's recent activities have fueled speculation, particularly his visit to his stronghold of Chhindwara, where he has served as a Member of Parliament for an impressive nine terms. Despite his son, Nakul Nath, securing the seat in the 2019 elections, the BJP clinched the majority of the remaining 28 seats in the state.

When questioned about the possibility of Nath defecting to the BJP, Digvijaya Singh, another prominent Congress leader, addressed the issue earlier in the day in Jabalpur. Singh revealed, "I spoke to Kamal Nath at 10.30 pm yesterday, he is in Chhindwara." Singh further emphasized Nath's longstanding allegiance to the Congress and the Nehru-Gandhi family, suggesting skepticism towards any potential departure from the party.

Reports suggest that Nath's dissatisfaction stems from not securing a Rajya Sabha berth and apparent opposition from Rahul Gandhi, particularly since the Congress's defeat in the recent assembly polls. Following the party's significant loss in the polls, Nath was replaced as the Madhya Pradesh unit chief, with the BJP securing 163 out of 230 seats, leaving the Congress with a mere 66.

As speculations continue to circulate, the political landscape remains dynamic, with Nath's future actions closely watched by both supporters and adversaries alike.
