New Delhi [India], Feb 10: A comprehensive victory for the visitors Sri Lanka. Fair to say, Bangladesh dug their own grave by opting for an overly spin friendly wicket. The visitors didn't need a second invitation, they won a big toss and although the batting didn't really match up, they made sure they had enough for their bowlers to come good. Roshen Silva was the star batsman, making half-centuries in both innings, gold dust considering the conditions. Lakmal started the slide in Bangladesh's first innings and then it was spin which did all the damage. It didn't help that the hosts were shockingly inept with the bat and the end result was a humiliating defeat. Yet another series win for the Lankans, they have been pretty decent in this format of the game, despite two series losses against India. They lost Mathews before the start of the first Test, but haven't put a foot wrong since then.

Roshen Silva's steady innings helped Sri Lanka stretch the lead before the visitors struck twice to leave Bangladesh with an uphill task on Day 3 of the second Test in Dhaka on Saturday (February 10). Sri Lanka's second innings came to an end at 226, with Silva scoring an unbeaten 70, to set the hosts a hefty target of 339. Bangladesh lost both their openers before Lunch to go into the break at 57 for 2 and after the lunch Sri Lanka come so strong. Akila Dananjaya picked up five wickets in rapid fire fashion.

Brief scores: Sri Lanka 222 & 226 (Roshen Silva 70, Dimuth Karunaratne 32; Taijul Islam 4-36) beats Bangladesh 110 & 123 (Mominul Haque 33; Akila Dananjaya 5-24) by 215 runs.
