The newly elected Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has reached Rashtrapati Bhavan. On his arrival President Ramnath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed him. During this, Rajapaksa said, 'I want to take the relationship between Sri Lanka and India to a higher level during my tenure as President. Both countries have a long standing friendship. We need to work together for the economic development and security of our people.

For your information, let us tell you that the newly elected Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, who came here on a three-day official visit, will discuss with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday to strengthen bilateral relations in key areas. Rajapaksa reached the national capital on Thursday. This is his first foreign visit since he took over as President. President of India Gotabaya Rajapaksa was welcomed by Union Minister VK Singh.

According to media reports, the President of Sri Lanka has arrived here with a high-level delegation, which includes Foreign Secretary Ravinath Aryasinh and Treasury Secretary SR Attigale. Now on Friday, he has reached Rashtrapati Bhavan to attend a formal reception. It was told that Rajapaksa will also garland the Mahatma Gandhi memorial at Rajghat. According to the information, after talks at Hyderabad House, PM Modi and Rajapaksa will issue press statements on their behalf. He is also expected to attend an event in Delhi on Saturday. Later in the evening, Rajapaksa will leave for Sri Lanka.
