Srinagar: Junaid Azim Mattu, the Mayor of Srinagar, the capital of Jammu and Kashmir, has called National Conference (NC) National President Farooq Abdullah as non-Islamic and apostate. Explain that, according to Islamic belief, a person who leaves Islam is called an apostate. Making such scathing remarks on Abdullah, Junaid Azim Mattu has also tweeted a picture, in which the statue of Lord Nataraja is kept near him. Junaid has also expressed his anger over how the picture of the Masjid Al Nawabi in Madinah has been placed below the statue of Nataraja. Let us tell you that this tweet of Mattu has come on the statement of former CM Farooq Abdullah, in which he requested the Kashmiri youth to follow the teachings of Quran.

An apostate to Islam, a ‘مرتد الاسلام’ (for abandoning basic principles and tenets of Islam), a Gustaakh-e-Rasool ﷺ (see recent pictures from Dr. Sahab’s residence below) has the AUDACITY to become a Khateeb and an evangelist on and off.

In fact, on May 12 (Friday), a statement of Abdullah was published on the news portal The Kashmir Wala. In which Abdullah had given a message to the youth of Kashmir that they should offer Namaz and follow the Quran. During this, Abdullah had told that every Kashmiri wants that the old status of his state (Article 370) should be restored. Abdullah had asked the youth to follow Islamic teachings, alleging anarchy and increasing unemployment in Kashmir. He had said that if you cannot read Quran, at least listen to it.
Srinagar Mayor Junaid Azim has reacted sharply to Abdullah's statement of instruction to follow Islamic teachings. Junaid termed the actions of Farooq Abdullah as un-Islamic. Junaid has posted 3 pictures in his tweet dated 12 May 2023. In one picture, two youths are seen standing behind Farooq Abdullah sitting on the sofa. A table is placed on the side of the sofa and a large idol of Lord Nataraja is placed on that table. Underneath the idol is a picture of the Masjid Al Nawabi in Madinah, which enraged Junaid.
In his tweet, Junaid has termed Farooq Abdullah as Murtad and Gustakh-e-Rasool. He has further requested people to see the pictures of Farooq Abdullah's hall. Mattu asked the people to show one such Muslim house where Masjid Al Nawabi is being disrespected like this. In his tweet, Junaid Azim has termed the implementation of Islamic teachings being given by Abdullah to the youth of Kashmir as a drama. At the same time, Junaid said that he should not mention the Quran or Namaz in his play. Accusing Abdullah of being an apostate, Junaid has said that he himself does not follow Islamic laws, but is trying to become a religious preacher.Â
