NEW DELHI: On Tuesday, January 21, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended heartffull greetings to the people of Tripura, Meghalaya, and Manipur as the states celebrated their statehood day.

Very Warm wishes to all persons in Tripura on their Statehood Day. The state is making remarkable strides in contributing to the nation's growth. Known for its vibrant culture and heritage, may Tripura achieve greater heights of progress and prosperity," he posted on  social media X.

Recognizing Meghalaya's breathtaking natural landscapes and the hardworking spirit of its citizens, the Prime Minister expressed hope for the state's continued advancement.
"All the Best wishes to each and everyone of Manipur on their Statehood Day. We take immense pride in the contributions made by the people of Manipur towards India's progress. Wishing Manipur continued growth and success," he shared in another post.

Tripura, Meghalaya, and Manipur officially became states in 1972, following the implementation of the North-Eastern Areas (Reorganisation) Act.

Meghalaya: Initially part of Assam, Meghalaya was granted autonomous status in 1969. It eventually became a full-fledged state on the same date—January 21, 1972.
