Stock market buzzes with economy survey, Sensex jumps beyond 58000

New Delhi: In the Economic Survey presented on the first day of the budget session of Parliament, there was tremendous enthusiasm in the stock market on Monday due to the estimates expressed about GDP growth. The 30-share index index of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) closed at 58,014.17 points with a gain of 813.94 points or 1.42%.

On the other hand, the National Stock Exchange's (NSE) index Nifty also closed at 17,339.80 with a gain of 237.80 points or 1.39 percent. On the Nifty, shares of Tech Mahindra, Tata Motors, Wipro, BPCL and Bajaj Finserv saw significant gains. On the other hand IndusInd Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, UPL, Coal India and HUL were the biggest losers. At the same time, there was a jump of 1 to 3 per cent in auto, pharma, IT, oil and gas, PSU banks and real estate. On the other hand, BSE Midcap and Small Cap saw an increase of 1 to 1.7 percent.

On the Sensex, shares of Tech Mahindra saw the highest rise of 4.88 percent. Similarly, the shares of Wipro closed with a gain of 3.70 percent. Apart from these, shares of Bajaj Finserv, Infosys, SBI, PowerGrid, Reliance Industries, Dr Reddy's, Titan, Bajaj Finance, Bharti Airtel, M&M, HCL Tech, UltraTech Cement, HDFC Bank, Asian Paints, NTPC, TCS, ITC closed on the green mark.
