Jind: An encounter broke out between Karnal police and criminals near Pindara village in Jind, Haryana, around 12 pm on Saturday. Two criminals were shot. Police have admitted both of them to the general hospital. The condition of both is said to be serious. One criminal was shot in the leg and the other in the hand. The criminals had opened fire at Meenakshi Hospital in Asundh on July 8, when Karnal police had been chasing them.
Karnal police inspector Mohan Lal said they received information on Saturday night that two criminals who were involved in the firing at Meenakshi Hospital were hiding near Pindara village in Jind. The police surrounded the criminals after receiving the information. When the police started arresting the criminals, both of them opened fire on the police. The police also fired back.
The same police bullet hit one criminal in the leg and the other in his hand. Subsequently, both of them have been arrested and admitted to General Hospital Jind. Both the criminals were on the run after firing at Meenakshi Hospital. One of them has been identified as Mohit, a resident of Sriganganagar in Rajasthan, and the other as Shobhit, a resident of Hathras in UP. Mohit was shot in the leg and Shobhit in his hand. Police are investigating the case.
