Uma Thurman, who has been nominated for Oscars and Emmys, has been cast as Arianna Huffington in the Showtime comedy 'Super Pumped.' In the first chapter of an anthology series from Billions co-creators Brian Koppelman and David Levien, she will star alongside Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Kyle Chandler.

Showtime's 'Super Pumped,' based on Mike Isaac's blockbuster book 'Super Pumped: The Battle for Uber,' recounts the life of the ride-hailing firm that is both a wonder and a cautionary tale, with internal and external struggles that have unforeseen repercussions.

The series will focus on Travis Kalanick (Gordon-Levitt), Uber's hard-charging CEO who was eventually deposed in a boardroom coup, and will show the startup transportation company's roller-coaster ride, encapsulating the highs and lows of Silicon Valley.

Thurman will play Arianna Huffington, co-founder of The Huffington Post and a member of the Uber board of directors. Elisabeth Shue, Kerry Bishe, Jon Bass, Bridget Gao Hollitt, and Babak Tafti will also be part of the cast.

The anthology series 'Super Pumped' will investigate a tale that rocked the corporate world to its core and transformed culture in each season. Thurman is most recognised for her appearances in Quentin Tarantino films such as the 'Kill Bill' series and 'Pulp Fiction.'
