New Delhi: The Supreme Court of the country has asked the State Governments to consider alternatives like home access service of liquor. In a PIL filed in the apex court, it was said that physical distancing is necessary to prevent infection of corona epidemic. But there is a huge crowd at liquor shops. Social distancing is becoming a joke. In such a situation, home delivery of liquor should be made by not selling liquor at liquor shops.

The petition filed in the apex court has challenged the notification of the central government which was allowed to open liquor shops amid lockdown. The petition said that the notification allowing liquor shops to sell liquor to customers is illegal and the notification should be banned. The court, while refusing to pass any order on the petition, said that to follow social distancing, the state governments should consider measures like home delivery of liquor.

Let us tell you that as soon as the liquor shops are allowed to open during the third phase of lockdown, there is a huge crowd gathering at the liquor shops. Social distancing is not being followed in most of the liquor shops, which has increased the possibility of an outbreak of corona infection.
