New Delhi: A review petition will be filed in the case of senior advocate Prashant Bhushan, convicted in contempt case of the Supreme Court. Senior advocate Rajiv Dhawan told the country's highest court that in this case we will file a review petition. Prashant has been convicted in the case of controversial tweets.

Rajiv Dhawan has contended that in one part of his decision which convicted Prashant Bhushan a day before Independence Day, the court has termed the controversial tweets as contempt but in the other part he has not considered it contempt. Bhushan will file a review petition before the court to clarify the situation. Contempt hearing is still going on in the apex court against Prashant Bhushan during an interview in 2009.

A review petition will be filed during this hearing only. This information was given to the top court by senior advocate Rajiv Dhawan. On Friday, the Supreme Court held him guilty of contempt of court over the tweet of Chief Justice SA Bobde and Prashant Bhushan criticizing the judiciary. This order came from Justice Arun Mishra, B.R. Gavai, and Krishna Murari passed. The verdict on the sentence is yet to be pronounced. The date of August 20 has been set for the next hearing.
