New Delhi: Security of the Sabarimala temple has been tightened before the Supreme Court verdict. Around 10,000 police personnel have been deployed around the temple premises. With this, the Mandalam Makara Vilakku festival is starting from 16 November. Five-level security arrangements have been made for this annual pilgrimage lasting two months.

Giving information to the media, DGP Loknath Behera has told that during the pilgrimage this year, strict security will be maintained around Sabarimala and for this 10017 police personnel have been deployed. ADGP S. Darvesh Saheb of Kerala Police has been appointed as the Chief Coordinator for this security. The temple will open for the Mandala Puja festival on 16 November.

Let us tell you that there was a ban on the entry of women between 10 and 50 years in the Swami Ayyappa temple of Sabarimala, which was lifted by the Supreme Court. This was followed by a massive protest in Kerala and a reconsideration petition was filed in the Supreme Court, after completing the hearing on which the Supreme Court is going to pronounce the verdict today, due to which security has been tightened around the temple.
