Saturday ;July 9, 2016: The plea of Congress Vice -President Rahul Gandhi, will today hear by Supreme Court.

The plea is for seeking a stay on the Bombay High Court order, declining to repeal the defamation case against him over his remark on the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.

As,in earlier April the plea was suspended by Apex court. Rahul had prior urged the apex court to reject the defamation case filed against him by the RSS in March.

Gandhi's counsel had earlier argued that there are several judgements and evidences that would prove that the defamation case filed against him was frivolous.

As per the reports, "the Congress vice-president had also turned down the Supreme Court's offer to express regret for his comment holding the RSS responsible for Mahatma Gandhi's assassination and get the defamation case filed against him buried".

Previous, Gandhi had also blamed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the RSS of trying to generate disturbance in plural but tuneful communal cloth in Assam.
