New Delhi: The Supreme Court will hold a detailed hearing tomorrow (on Monday) on the petitions filed against the ongoing protest demonstration in Shaheen Bagh, the capital of the country. Petitions have been filed on behalf of the lawyer and social activist Amit Sahni, BJP leader Nand Kishore Garg and others. The Bench of Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Justice KM Joseph will hear these petitions.

Earlier on Friday, the Supreme Court refused to hear the applications. The court said that we are aware of the problem, but there will be no hearing today. After which now the matter will be heard on Monday (10 February 2020). On 8 February, the hearing was adjourned due to voting in Delhi. The court said that let us see how this problem can be resolved.

Apart from lawyer Amit Sahni, the petition filed by BJP leader Nand Kishore Garg has demanded the opening of the closed path of Shaheen Bagh. The petitioner has demanded that the entire issue be monitored by the retired judge of the top court or any sitting judge of the High Court to prevent violence. Demand has been issued to issue guidelines.
