Patna:  Senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi has likened Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to a "fuse bulb" and thrown a challenge at him to contest the Lok Sabha elections from Varanasi against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Modi asserted, "Nitish Kumar is a fuse bulb, which may flicker, but never burns." He further claimed that Nitish Kumar's influence is confined to his states, and if he possesses the courage, he should contest elections against Narendra Modi. Union Minister Giriraj Singh also chimed in, stating that Nitish Kumar lacks credibility, and his role in public life ended when he insulted women in the Bihar Assembly.

In response to Nitish Kumar's planned rally in Prime Minister Modi's constituency, Singh mentioned that Nitish Kumar has no significant role left in Bihar. He questioned whether PM Modi is the owner of Varanasi, asserting that any common citizen can visit the city, and there is no guarantee that PM Modi will be elected next time.

Meanwhile, RJD leader Manoj Jha took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that there is no assurance he will be elected next time. When asked about Nitish Kumar's rally in Varanasi, Jha questioned if Nitish is committing a crime, emphasizing that a public representative has the right to visit Varanasi as it is not owned by PM Modi.
