Vadodara, Gujarat witnessed a mesmerizing spectacle as the Swaminarayan Akshardham Temple in Chansad village illuminated its ancient premises with a radiant display of 11,000 earthen lamps. The sacred ambiance of the traditional Hindu architecture came alive, shimmering in vibrant hues and luminous colors, captivating the devotion of countless devotees.

Chansad village holds a significant place in history, being the birthplace of the fifth spiritual successor of Bhagwan Swaminarayan, Pramukh Swami Maharaj. At this revered location, priests conducted the evening maha aarti within the hallowed grounds of the age-old temple. Devotees gathered in spiritual reverence, engaging in sacred chants and reciting mantras.

Embracing the essence of traditional Hindu architectural marvels, the mandir stands as a testament to aesthetic grandeur. Its design meticulously follows the principles outlined in the ancient Indian treatises on architectural science, known as the shilpa shastras.

Chansad village, near Vadodara, holds a special place as the birthplace of Pramukh Swami Maharaj, the revered founder of the Akshardham Temple and former head of BAPS Swaminarayan Temple. Notably, the village's pond, steeped in memories associated with Pramukh Swami Maharaj, underwent a renovation just a few years ago, now named Narayan Sarovar in his honor.
