Lucknow: A minor girl belonging to the Dalit community was gang-raped in Uttar Pradesh's Sambhal district, police said on Sunday. According to media reports, the names of the accused in the gangrape of the victim are Tahir and Tasawwur. Both of them are accused of luring the victim on the pretext of giving her a lift to her aunt's house. The police have registered a case and arrested Tahir and Tasawwur. The incident took place on Thursday (May 25).
According to the information, the case is from Hazrat Nagar Garhi police station area of Sambhal district. The victim's mother has lodged a complaint in this regard. According to the complaint, the 16-year-old Dalit victim, originally a resident of Majhola police station area of Moradabad, was going to her aunt's village here. During this time she got down from the bus at a place called Sirsi. It is alleged that two youths named Tasawwur and Tahir were standing here on a motorcycle. On seeing the girl alone, they started talking to her and in a conversation, Tahir and Tasawwur offered to drop the victim to her aunt's house. The minor girl accepted it.
The two took the girl on a motorcycle to the forest of Baripur Bhamraua, located some distance away. Here, Tahir and Tasawwur took turns to gang-rape the victim in a field. Later, the duo threatened the girl with dire consequences if she opened her mouth and fled from the spot. The victim informed her family members about the incident over phone. Soon, the girl's family members reached the police station and lodged a complaint with the police. Police have registered a case against Tahir and Tasawwur under other sections including POCSO and arrested both of them. Further investigation and legal action is being taken in the case.
