In a recent bulletin issued by the Health Department, it has been revealed that out of new cases of infection, there are a total of 2,422 cases from Chennai and its adjoining districts, Chengalpet, Kanchipuram and Thiruvallur, while the remaining cases are reported from other districts of the state. With this, the total death toll has now increased to 3,571. Of these only 2,032 people died in Chennai. Apart from this, according to the information received, out of total 2,20,716 cases in the state, only 95,857 cases are from Chennai. There are 54,896 total sick patients in the state. After discharging 5,723 people from hospitals on Monday, the total number of people who have recovered now has increased to 1,62,249.
