Chennai: Milanadu government has imposed a cap on the charges being taken by private hospitals for the treatment of corona infected. The government has fixed category wise rates for the treatment of corona. That is, now any hospital will be able to recover the charge set by the government. In the last few days, there were reports from the state that many private hospitals are charging arbitrary charges after treatment of corona patients.

On this matter, AIADMK (All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam) leader VPB Paramasivam had told that the state government would soon put a cap on the Covid treatment charge. After which the Government of Tamil Nadu has issued orders in this regard on Saturday. According to the government order, if a corona gets treatment in the general ward of hospitals falling in grade three and four, it will have to pay Rs 5000. The same charge will be 7,500 in the hospitals under grade one and two. While the charge of ICU will be Rs 15,000 in all hospitals.

After the state government has imposed a cap on the cost of treatment, now there will be a freeze on charging arbitrarily for private hospitals. Applying a cap means fixing the price. Generally, the government imposes a cap on whatever is mandatory for the people to live. So that no person or organization can take advantage of the compulsion of the general public. After the government has fixed the expenses for the treatment of corona patients, now a private hospital can no longer ask for money from patients.
