Tamil Nadu to hit by 'Cyclone' on Friday; says MeT department

Chennai:Today, MeT department announced that it is likely that the cyclone will hit the Tamil Nadu on Friday, December 2. The disaster is preparing in the Bay of Bengal. 

Cuddalore between Vedaranyam in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry is likely to receive landfall. Presently, the cyclone is around 770 km south east of Chennai, and is known as NADA, which is predicted to take a step towards west and expand. As well as it is expected that the Chennai will receive slight rainfall tonight, but north coastal Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, may receive heavy rains from tomorrow.

The Met department said, "squally winds speed reaching 45-55 kmph gusting to 65 kmph would commence to prevail along and off the Tamil Nadu and Puducherry coasts from December 1. Sea condition would be rough to very rough".
