President Ram Nath Kovind greets teachers on Teachers' Day

New Delhi: Teachers' Day is being celebrated across the country today. At the same time, the country's first Vice President, and is also the birthday of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan which is celebrated as Teachers' Day. Now, on this occasion, many political figures including the President of India have greeted the people and also remembered the first Vice President of India, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan on his birth anniversary.

 

 

Remembering former President of the country Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, President Ram Nath Kovind tweeted: "Teachers' Day is celebrated on the occasion of the birth anniversary of the great educationist, philosopher, and former President of the country, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. My best wishes to the teachers on the occasion of Teachers' Day.'' Apart from him, Prime Minister Modi tweeted, "On Teachers' Day, congratulations to the entire teaching fraternity, which has always played an important role in nurturing the young mind. It is commendable how teachers have innovated and ensured that the students' education journey continues in COVID-19.''

In another tweet, the Prime Minister wrote, "I pay homage to Dr. S. Radhakrishnan on his birth anniversary and recall his distinguished scholarship as well as his contribution to our country.'' Let me tell all of you that in India, Teachers' Day is celebrated from 1962 to 5 September, the birth anniversary of the first Vice President of India and the second President, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. In fact, Dr. Radhakrishnan was a professor before entering politics and taught in various universities. He also served as vice-chancellor of Banaras Hindu University, Delhi University, and Andhra Pradesh University. He also taught at Oxford University for many years.
