Bihar: After drinking poisonous liquor, many families have been ruined once again. On the occasion of Diwali, 31 people died as a result of drinking fake liquor in Gopalganj and Bettiah. So far, 20 people have died in Gopalganj, while 11 people have died in Bettiah. Many people have lost their eyesight as a result of consuming illegal liquor. Last week, six people died in Muzaffarpur as a result of excessive drinking.

Tejashwi Yadav, the leader of the opposition in Bihar, has blamed the deaths on the Nitish government. 'More than 35 people were killed by the government on the day of Diwali in Bihar due to poisonous liquor,' Tejashwi tweeted.

Bihar hooch tragedy: Several deaths have been reported in West Champaran and Gopalganj over the last few days due to the alleged consumption of spurious liquor. People complained of severe stomach aches after consuming the alcohol, according reports, and died within a few hours at their homes or in hospitals. Several people have been taken to hospitals for medical observation as a result of the scare. Police have been raiding various locations and making arrests in connection with the alleged distribution of tainted liquor.
