On Saturday, K Chandrashekhar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, visited the Prime Minister of the country, Narendra Modi. In the meeting, the two discussed several issues like the revaluation of the reservation percentage for backward classes in jobs and for Universities.

Rao has also presented a letter regarding the same issue and has appealed the Ministry of Home Affairs for considering the matter and to rethink over the percentage of reservation. He feels that the number of the backward community has increased post the division of the state.

As per the reports, the State Assembly, in the year 2017 had passed a bill called, 'Telangana Backward Classes, Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Reservation of seats in Educational Institutions and of appointments or posts in the services under the State) Bill 2017'. This bill was intended to offer reservation to the backward classes in the state-run educational organizations and state government jobs.

The Chief Minister has also appealed the Government to help them in uplifting the backward areas of the state. Rao also said that he wishes to complete the railway project as soon as possible since the railway in the state is in awful condition.
