Hyderabad: The District Consumer Forum of The Saipur District has imposed a fine of Rs 65,000 for the Colgate Company. According to the information received, CH Nagender, who works as a lawyer, bought 150 grams of Coalgate Max Toothpaste at Reliance Fresh Retail Mall of Sangam for Rs 92 on April 7, 2019. In addition, 20 grams of Coalgate Max toothpaste was bought for Rs 10.

The paste prices purchased by the lawyer were calculated. He found that if the paste was purchased at 20 grams, 150 grams of paste was worth Rs 75. However, Nagender was suspected to have taken 150 grams of paste for Rs 92. That is, 17 rupees is charged more. After this, Colgate sent a notice to the company to respond to why he took over Rs 17.

But he did not receive a response from Colgate. As a result, the lawyer filed a petition in the Consumer Forum. Consumer Forum Chairman P Kasturi and member D Sridevi, after hearing the petition, ordered the Coalgate Company to repay Rs 17 for the extra amount seized from Nagender.

The mentally tortured consumer was ordered to pay 10,000 rupees and an additional 5,000 rupees for expenses. Apart from this, an additional 50 thousand were ordered for the Consumer Forum Fund. This amount was ordered to be paid within a month.
