Hyderabad: Violent protests were held across the country on Friday (June 10, 2022) after Jumei's prayers against the alleged remarks made by suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma on Prophet Muhammad. In the same episode, radical Islamists in Telangana tampered with the national flag tricolour of the country.' In the province, rioters removed the Ashok Chakra in the middle of the tricolour and wrote Islamic Kalma in its place.

According to a report, the said incident took place outside the Masjid-e-Rahmat Masjid in Mahabubnagar, where hundreds of Muslim people had gathered to protest against the comments made on prophet Muhammad. The mob raised slogans against Nupur Sharma and the BJP and submitted a memorandum to the collector demanding strict action against the former BJP spokesperson. However, during this time, Islamic fundamentalists tampered with the Indian tricolour and insulted the national flag by removing the Ashoka Chakra and writing Islamic Kalma in its place.

When the religion of Islam is adopted, the Kalma is recited. It is a declaration, or statement of faith, which literally means 'word'. Shahadah or Kalma reading 'Oath' "Testimony" is the most important of the five pillars of Islam for Muslims.
