Ten people injured in clash between YSRCP and TDP workers in Ganesh idol immersion procession

Guntur: Ten people were injured and three motorcycles were damaged in a clash between TDP and YSRCP workers in Kopparru village of Pedanadipadu mandal of the district late on Monday night. According to the information, YSRCP supporters took out a procession for immersion of Ganesh idol on Monday night. When they reached in front of the house of former ZPTC member Batina Sharda, a dispute broke out between the YSRCP and TDP workers. Both the groups pelted stones at each other and attacked with sticks. Later some YSRCP workers allegedly barged into Sharda's house and set the furniture of the house on fire and thrashed people with sticks.

According to Bapatla DSP A Srinivasa Rao, ten people were injured and three motorcycles were damaged in a clash between TDP and YSRCP workers at the house of former ZPTC member Batina Sharda. Both the groups pelted stones at each other. The injured have been sent to GGH for treatment by 108 ambulance. After first aid, the doctors discharged him. Saradha's husband Batina Venu Gopal Krishna and Medarmetla Venkata Appaiah Chowdhury filed complaints against 19 people associated with the YSRCP in connection with the incident. Police have detained 15 suspects in connection with the violence. Pedakanandipadu police have registered a case and started investigation.

Ponnur rural circle-inspector K Srinivasa Rao said, "We have detained 15 accused. We have registered cases against both the groups." Guntur Rural SP Vishal Gunni directed Bapatla DSP A Srinivasa Rao to form special teams to arrest the accused of violence and pressurize the clue team to get clues related to the accused in the case.
