Leander Paes, the well-known Indian tennis icon and his German partner Andre Begemann have banged out peak seeds Lukasz Kubot and Nenad Zimonjic in at once sets to tempest into the semifinals of the ATP Winston-Salem Open in the US.

Paes and Begemann distress the Poland-Serbian combo 6-4 and 6-4 in their quarterfinal.

It was a sort of retribution win for Paes, who had lost to the Polish pair of Kubot and Marcin Matkowski in the Rio Olympics 2016 first round next to fellow Roahn Bopanna.

The Indo-Chinese duo will face third seeds Robert Lindstedt and Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi, who got past Marin Draganja and Dominic Inglot 7-6, 6-7,10-8 in their close quarterfinal competition.
