Five-time Grand Slam singles champion and former world No. 1 Maria Sharapova has announced the birth of her son Theodore on social media with fiance Alexander Gilkes, saying it is going to be the most beautiful. The challenging and rewarding gift that our little family is going to ask for. Sharapova, 35, also posted the Roman numeral "VII.I.MMXXII", in which Theodore's date of birth was July 1.

Sharapova posted a photo with Theodore and her fiancee, Gilkes, on Friday and wrote- "The most beautiful, challenging and rewarding gift that is going to demand for our little family. Sharapova had earlier announced on her 35th birthday in April that she and Gilkes were expecting a baby. Sharapova retired from professional tennis in February 2020, with 36 career singles titles on the WTA Tour.
