Mumbai: Think for a minute that you are busy with everyday work early in the morning and get a call from the municipal office to get your own death certificate? Isn't it strange? In fact, this is exactly what happened to Chandrashekhar Desai, a 55-year-old teacher in Thane, Maharashtra. Desai received a call from Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) to collect his own death certificate. Chandrashekhar Desai, a resident of Manpada in Thane, is working in a school in Ghatkopar.

He said he received a call from a woman who was calling herself an employee of the health department of TMC. Desai said the woman said over the phone that she had called Chandrashekhar Desai to assign a death certificate. Desai told the media that when the woman was told that she was talking to Chandrashekhar Desai, she was stunned and questioned whether anyone in Desai's house died due to a covid-19 infection. The phone then disconnected. Desai said he was infected with coronavirus in August last year.

However, he remained in isolation at home and was treated there. After that, he had recovered completely. Desai also said that he had also received a call during isolation to get health information. After getting a call from TMC, Desai went to his office and found that all the information recorded about him was correct. Desai also said that he has lodged his complaint with the authorities as if the mistake is not rectified, he is declared dead as per records and may have to face difficulties in the future.
