On Thursday, the first phase of Lok Sabha poll started at 7 am with voters in 91 constituencies across 18 states and 2 Union Territories exercising their franchise to decide the fate of 1279 candidates. Voting begins for 91 constituencies in 20 states and union territories in the 1st phase of Lok Sabha poll. Voters begin to arrive at polling booths 156 and 158 in Dibrugarh ahead of the voting for the first phase of Lok Sabha election. Voting in Andhra Pradesh Lok Sabha and Assembly elections will be held simultaneously and the people of Andhra can check whether or not they have their names in the voter list. With the progress of voter data digitisation having been taken up across the country, eligible voters can now check their names online through various devices like mobile phone devices and computers.

The voting in Andhra Pradesh, for both the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections, will be held on April 11 and the results of the general elections will be declared on 23rd May. For effectiveness of the elections, ECI has involved the use of telecommunication and smart technologies.
