Panaji: Winter vacations have started. You too must be looking for or have decided on a beautiful place to celebrate Christmas and New Year. Where you can party all night. Goa is often overcrowded with tourists these days. These dates are booked months in advance. Hotels and resorts are all overcrowded at this moment. But if you also want to party all night long and dance on loudspeakers in Goa, then just wait. The Goa government has decided to ban singing loudly after midnight.

The BJP government in Goa has withdrawn an earlier law allowing music till 6 am on certain days. Now the decision has tossed the plans of hundreds of hotels, resorts, and party venues in jeopardy ahead of the Christmas and New Year holidays. This season is most special for the coastal state. Earlier on some festivals permission was given till 6 am after taking permission for the loudspeaker. According to the latest decision, now permission will be given till 12 midnight.

On normal days, loud music has to be stopped at 10 pm. The government has also reduced the number of special festivals. The Goa government on Thursday evening issued an order replacing its earlier order dated February 10, 2022, which allowed music to be played all night during 17 days of the year. This step was taken after the observation of the Bombay High Court. In this, it was said that the government should ensure that there is no noise pollution due to noisy parties till late at night.
