Leaders of Mamata Banerjee's Trinamool Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party have come face to face in the controversy related to Shah Rukh Khan's film Pathaan. In fact, BJP and Hindutva organizations have objected to actress Deepika Padukone's saffron bikini in the song 'Besharam Rang' of this film. Yes, and many people say that the feelings of Hindus have been hurt by describing the saffron color dress as a 'Besharam Rang' in the song. Meanwhile, TMC leader Riju Dutta has shared a video of Smriti Irani and added fuel to the controversy. Yes, he has shared a video of the Miss India beauty pageant 1998 in which Smriti Irani is also seen wearing a saffron bikini.

You can see Riju Dutta posting the video wrote, 'The hate-mongering idiots of the #BoycottSquad who wants to #BoycottShahRukhKhan for ''Bhagwa Rang on a Bikini'' in #BesharmRang need to immediately boycott, @smritiirani, because she wore a ''Bhagwa Bikini'' in 1998, but she’s a Union Cabinet Minister. Why No Action on Her???' With this, Riju Dutta wrote in his second tweet, 'I want to make it clear that I have no problem with Smriti Irani's dress which she wore in Miss India Beauty Pageant 1998, it is her right and choice. My fight is against the hypocrisy and hatred towards women by the BJP and its leaders.'

Let us tell you that Riju Dutta tweeted the video of Smriti Irani in response to a tweet by BJP spokesperson Amit Malviya. Amit Malviya shared a video from the Kolkata Film Festival in which Mamata Banerjee asks Bollywood singer Arijit Singh to sing a song and in response, he says 'Rang De Tu Mohe Gerua'. In this tweet, Amit Malviya writes, 'It was an evening of feelings. From Mr. Bachchan to Arijit, who reminded Mamata Banerjee that the future of Bengal is saffron.'

BJP MP Locket Chatterjee hit back at Riju Dutta's video and wrote, "Shame on Mamata Banerjee for appointing such misogynist men as TMC’s national spokesperson. He has no respect for women and the choices they make in life. They resent successful women and their rise. Men like him are responsible for the rising crime against women.''

TMC spokesperson Riju Dutta wrote, "Is saffron color BJP's personal property? Who has given them the right to do this? If they are abusing women like Deepika Padukone for wearing clothes of her choice in saffron, then they should also see that their Union Minister wore a saffron bikini in 1998.'' Dutta further wrote, ''TMC has no objection to what Smriti Irani will wear, it is her right. But we oppose BJP's moral policing and selective outrage against certain people.''
