Samastipur: The groom was taken hostage by the family members of the girl who arrived to get married on Friday night in Bhusari village under Moffussil police station area of Samastipur district of Bihar. The girl was accused of being intoxicated when the bridegroom arrived at the bride's door. Not only that, before the garlands ceremony the groom drank alcohol again.
When the girl side approached the groom's father, he too drank a lot of alcohol. The girl watching the addict groom refused the marriage. After which the girl side held all the tourists, including the bridegroom, hostage all night. Later, the panchayat sat at the initiative of the villagers.
In which the boy side was given a decision to deposit three and a half lakh rupees of the expenses incurred in the marriage. The boy side paid Rs 50,000 in the morning, after which the tourists were released.
The groom and his father were released after paying back Rs 2.5 lakh. The groom's sister informed the police about the hostage of the tourists at night. The groom's sister says she had informed the police in the afternoon, but the police did not take any initiative. Later in the evening, the police arrived to investigate the case. In this case, the police say that no written statement has been given by either party in this regard.
