New Delhi: The growing infection of new and dangerous variant Omicron of coronavirus cannot be prevented. This was stated by a doctor of a committee of experts on coronavirus infection in Kerala. Dr DS Anis, who was on the committee, also said that the cases of Omicron are doubling every two days.

Talking to the media, Dr Anis said, "Global trends show that Omicron cases are reaching 1000 in 2-3 weeks and the figure may reach 10 lakh in 2 months. We don't have more than a month to prevent the eruption of this infection in India. We have to stop it.'' He also said that most of the cases in the country are related to migrants. The committee doctor cautioned, "We cannot prevent the spread of infection in India. We have 1 month to reactivate our system. So that the situation does not go out of our way.''

He said that even if we use our system on time, there is a high risk of increased Omicron infection in a country like India. More than 35 cases of omicron have been registered in Kerala so far. The Omicron variant in India has left the Central and various state and Union Territory governments worried. So far, more than 17 states in the country have received cases of this variant. In view of the growing threat of omicron in many states, restrictions have also started to return.
