New Delhi: The country's capital Delhi recorded the lowest minimum temperature in the last one decade in May after heavy rains on Monday. The spell of rain that began in Delhi-NCR from Sunday continued till early Tuesday morning, bringing relief to the people of Delhi from the scorching heat. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that the heat wave is not expected to prevail in Delhi for the next five days.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), there will be relief from heat wave in the rest of the country except western Rajasthan for the next five days. The Met department said, "Heat wave conditions are likely to prevail at some places in west Rajasthan on May 26 and 27. At the same time, there will be no heat wave and heat wave conditions in any part of the country during the next five days. According to Skymet Weather, light to moderate rainfall is likely to occur in different parts of Kerala, South Karnataka, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep.  

According to the IMD, north west and eastern India will receive rainfall during the next two days. Light and moderate rainfall with thundershowers, lightning and gusty winds is forecast in isolated parts of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. The IMD has predicted a decrease in sporadic rainfall in Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, north Madhya Pradesh from May 25, 2022.
