Ranchi: The situation in several districts has worsened due to continuous rains in Jharkhand, but rain and waterlogging in the capital Ranchi have become an accident. Here, an old fruit vendor fell into the swollen drain and could not be traced even after hours. In Ranchi, continuous rain for the last 2-3 days has become an excuse for accidents. In Panchsheel Nagar street of Pandara, elderly fruit vendor Ajay Prasad Agarwal fell into a swollen drain and was swept away.
The same accident took place on Wednesday evening when 55-year-old Ajay Prasad was returning home after finishing work. Throughout the night, locals searched for them in the drain, but without success. In the morning, a team of municipal corporations and district administration reached Panchsheel Nagar and started looking for the old man, but even after hours, no success was achieved.
Thereafter, the team of NDRF also reached the spot and started searching for the person drowned in the drain, but after several attempts, the team returned after not succeeding. After that, with the help of local police, the corporation employees continued the search with the help of JCB, but they also did not get anything in their hands. Even after hours, the old man could not be traced, meanwhile, Ranchi MP Sanjay Seth and Ranchi MLA CP Singh also rushed to the spot on receiving Tahrir. The duo met the family of the old man. Thereafter, the two leaders expressed their displeasure over the behavior of municipal officials.
