'It is our duty to help everyone in crisis...', PM Modi met team returning from Turkey

New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi on Monday (February 20) interacted with the Indian aid team that went to earthquake-hit Turkey. Describing human interest as paramount, PM Modi said that India is further strengthening its identity of selflessness. He said that we consider the whole world as a family and being its member it is our duty to extend a helping hand swiftly in times of crisis. PM Modi on Monday interacted with the workers of NDRF and other agencies who reached Turkey for relief and rescue work at his residence. During this, the Director General of NDRF Atul Karwal was also present. 

During this, PM Modi said that the reputation of NDRF is continuously increasing and people's trust in them has increased. In times of calamity or crisis, people work according to what they (NDRF) say. Describing India's quick response to the crisis as an achievement, PM Modi said it has attracted the attention of the world and developed a goodwill image towards India. Seeing the tricolor, hope arises in people. We have seen the same role of the tricolor during the crisis in Ukraine and Afghanistan and also during the Corona period. Along with its citizens, India has also helped the citizens of other countries.

Reminding the relief workers of their responsibility to document their experience, PM Modi said that we do not have to stop and increase the power of our human face manifold. What we learned will help in any crisis that may come. PM Modi also appreciated the presence of women in the Indian team of relief workers. He said that due to this the women affected by the disaster have been able to express their pain.
